Interlibrary Loans

If you are unable to find an item you are looking for in our catalog you may request the item through Interlibrary Loan. Requests for Interlibrary Loan may be made in person at the circulation desk. Patrons requesting items through Interlibrary Loan MUST adhere to the Hillsboro City Library's Interlibrary Loan Policy.

There is no fee for requesting interlibrary loans.

However, patrons are responsible for late fees, and damaged or lost materials.

The Interlibrary Loan Process:

  • Make your request at the circulation desk

  • Our interlibrary loan system searches for the requested material

  • If the material is available, we make a request to other libraries for the material

  • The request is granted or denied by the lending library

  • The lending library mails the item to us

  • We check the item out to you

  • Borrowing periods are set by the lending library

  • You return the borrowed item to the Hillsboro City Library

  • We mail the item back to the lending library
