Library cards at the Hillsboro City Library are free for everyone.
Patrons may check out up to ten (10) items for a period of fourteen (14) days.

Interested persons may get a Hillsboro City Library card beginning at birth.
What do i need to get a library card?
In order to get a library card all that is required is proof of address. This can be in the form of your state ID card or driver's license, a water bill, passport, insurance card, or any other official paperwork with your name and address on it.
Where do I get a library Card?
Adults wishing to get a Hillsboro City Library card may apply in person at our Circulation Desk on the main floor of the library. Present proof of address and fill out the library card application.
Children wishing to get a Hillsboro City Library card must have a parent or guardian apply for them at our Circulation Desk on the main floor of the library. Parents or guardians must present proof of address and fill the children's library card application.
When do I get my library card?
Library cards are made in house and may take up to two (2) week to make.
They are typically ready for pick up when you return your first checked out items.
Patrons may pick up their library cards at the circulation desk.
The library will NOT mail your library card to you.
