The Friends of the Hillsboro City Library, in partnership with the Hillsboro City Library and the City of Hillsboro Parks Department, have installed a permanent StoryWalk® in Hillsboro City Park on North Pleasant Street.
A StoryWalk is a sequence of picture book pages that are displayed in 21 weatherproof cases along a path. Park visitors read the displayed story as they walk along the roughly quarter mile route. Readers will also find movement activities and engagement questions to participate in as they read the story.
The StoryWalk® is located in Hillsboro City Park by the North Pleasant Street entrance. The StoryWalk begins by the red StoryWalk sign, near the playground, and follows the looping path by the movie screening area.
The StoryWalk® located in Hillsboro City Park Launched as a part of the Hillsboro City Library's 2021 annual Summer Reading Program and will continue to be an ongoing feature of the Library and City Park.
New stories are posted monthly. To find out when a new story is posted, follow the Hillsboro City Library's Facebook page.
The StoryWalk® Project was created by Anne Ferguson of Montpelier, Vermont and developed in collaboration with the Kellogg-Hubbard Library. It is a registered service mark owned by Ms. Ferguson.
