Hillsboro City Library Receives Accessibility Grant

The Hillsboro City Library (HCL) was recently awarded the American Library Association's Libraries Transforming Communities: Accessible Small and Rural Communities grant, in the amount of $20,000, for the purpose of increasing the accessibility of library facilities, services, and programs to better serve community members with disabilities.

Hillsboro City Library staff are calling for community feedback and input in deciding which aspects of library accessibility should be improved. While a list of proposed enhancements was created to apply for the grant, it is important that final decisions are impacted by those who would most benefit from the improvements. There are two ways to have your voice be heard on the matter: the first is to complete HCL's Accessibility Improvement Survey, which can be found by clicking the button below, and the second is by attending HCL's Community Conversation on Library Accessibility on Monday, August 10th at 5:00pm at the Hillsboro City Library.
