In February, REACH Across Hill County coalition members met at the Hillsboro City Library for a monthly coalition meeting that ended with the creation of the new Community Care Corner (C3), located in the back porch area of the library. C3 contains essentials like toothbrushes, shampoo, small blankets, sunscreen, and more, as well as information about local resources. The Hillsboro City Library recently received a grant through the Association of Small and Rural Libraries (ARSL), in partnership with the Simons Foundation as part of its “Infinite Sums” initiative. The funds from the grant are intended for math programming centering around Pi Day (March 14th), Infinity Day (August 8th), and Fibonacci Day (November 23rd), to broaden the understanding of what math is and who it’s for.
